Marcelo Brites
Marcelo Brites-Pereira has a PhD in Educational Sciences – specialising in Educational Technology – from the University of Minho. He carries out research activities in the areas of Social Sciences with an emphasis on Educational Sciences and Multimedia, Health Sciences with an emphasis on Gerontology, promotion of active and healthy ageing, health in the third age, serious games and exergames for the promotion of Physical and Cognitive Activity. She has a Master’s degree in Multimedia from the University of Aveiro, with research carried out in the area of usability and human-computer interfaces using Eye-Tracking technology to assess the quality of design in virtual computer and television scenarios. From his professional experience, he has taught as a Guest Lecturer at the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, teaching Gerontotechnology Uc’s and the Medical Instrumentation Computer Laboratory. He also carried out teaching activities as a Guest Lecturer at the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave, in the Webdesign Curriculum Unit. In 2020 he was awarded the Alumni Merit Career Prize by the Polytechnic of Leiria as part of the celebrations for the 40th anniversary of this Higher Education Institution. He has book chapters, as well as several scientific publications, communications and posters. He is a Post-Doc Researcher at ciTechCare-Centre for Innovative Care and Health Technology in the OnTrack Project (POCI-01-0145-FEDER-028446).
