aTOPlab is now an institutional member of AAATE!
The Assistive Technology & Occupational Performance Laboratory (aTOPlab), part of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria through ESSLei and ciTechCare, is proud to announce that it is now an official institutional member of AAATE – Association for the Advancement of Assistive Technology in Europe.
This affiliation reinforces aTOPlab’s commitment to research, training, and community intervention in the field of assistive technologies and occupational performance, promoting inclusion and accessibility for people with functional limitations.
What is AAATE?
AAATE is a European non-profit association that promotes the advancement of assistive technology (AT) and inclusive design. Its mission is to create a world where all people can enjoy their human rights equally through access to technologies that enable active participation in society.
Since 1990, AAATE has organised international conferences, published the journal Technology and Disability, and collaborated with global networks such as GAATO and the ENTELIS Network, bringing together researchers, professionals, institutions and companies from across Europe.
This partnership represents an important step for aTOPlab, which now joins a European network of excellence dedicated to innovation, inclusion and accessibility.
AAATE has 41 institutional members from 23 European countries. These include universities, research centres, public services, associations and companies.
