Occupational therapist since 1984, she has additional training and professional experience in Health Services Management and Administration, Health Services Quality, and Upper Limb Reeducation. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Education, specializing in Assessment and Supervision, at the University of Aveiro. She holds the title of Specialist in Therapy and Rehabilitation.
Until 2009, she worked mainly with neurological and musculoskeletal occupational performance deficits at the Alcoitão Rehabilitation Medicine Center at the Nossa Senhora do Rosário Hospital, CHBM.
An adjunct professor at the School of Health Sciences of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, she is the coordinator of the Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy, having been the coordinator of the first edition of the Postgraduate Specialization in Hand Therapy and one of the main drivers behind the creation of aTOPlab.
