Luís Vicente is a senior technician at aTOPlab – Assistive Technology and Occupational Performance Laboratory at the School of Health Sciences and a collaborating researcher at ciTechCare – Center for Innovative Care and Health Technology at the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Education at the University of Salamanca. He holds a master’s degree, with specialized training and postgraduate studies in Special Education in the Cognitive-Motor Domain.

From the 2011/2012 to 2013/2014 academic years, he was hired as a Guest Assistant Professor by the School of Education and Social Sciences at the Polytechnic of Leiria.

He is a member of the Organizing Committee of INCLUDiT – International Conference for Inclusion and CITecA – International Conference on Assistive Technologies and Accessibility.

He received the Social and Human Sciences Award – 2021, for his work “Social Inclusion: Assessment of Accessibility in Social Facilities. A Case Study,” as part of his master’s degree, an award given by the Ministry of Labor, Solidarity, and Social Security and the National Institute for Rehabilitation, I.P.

Research areas: Architectural, attitudinal, instrumental, digital, communicational, and organizational accessibility in public and private buildings. Inclusive education.
