Rafael Tavares
Rafael Tavares is an Occupational Therapist with a degree from the Escola Superior de Saúde do Politécnico do Porto. He works at the Porto Cerebral Palsy Association, where his duties include the role of SAPA prescriber, after experience in assessing and marketing mobility and positioning products for complex rehabilitation and in physical rehabilitation clinics. He is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the School of Health of the Polytechnic of Leiria and is a member of the Centre for Innovative Care and Health Technology of the Polytechnic of Leiria (CiTechCare). His teaching and research focus on the selection and configuration of support products for mobility, positioning, transport and environmental adaptation. He is a published author in the field of environmental adaptation, and is currently developing research into the application of mainstream IoT products in populations with motor disabilities.
