Rui Fonseca-Pinto (MD, Ph.D.) has a degree in Mathematics (2000), a master’s degree in Applied Mathematics and a postgraduate degree in Medical Physics and Biophysics (2004). He completed his PhD in Biomedical Engineering and Biophysics (2010) and his Master’s in Medicine in 2017.
From 2005 to 2010 he was at the Institute of Biophysics and Biomedical Engineering (IBEB), and since 2011 at the Telecommunications Institute (IT), in the Multimedia Signal Processing Group.

Research areas: medical-engineering interface, skin imaging technology (laser speckle, light fields), evaluation of the autonomous nervous system, artificial intelligence in medicine.
