Andreia Matos
Andreia Matos, 29, is from Vila Real. She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Human Rehabilitation and Accessibility Engineering from the University of Trás os Montes and Alto Douro. During her academic career, she published three scientific articles at international conferences:
- Multi-sensory Storytelling to Support Learning for People with Intellectual Disability: An Exploratory Didactic Study;
- A myographic-based HCI solution proposal for upper limb amputees;
- Human–computer interaction based on facial expression recognition: a case study in degenerative neuromuscular disease.
Between 2016 and 2020, she worked at Sem Barreiras in Viseu, creating 3D designs for Snoezelen rooms. In 2018, she founded Adapt4you, a company dedicated to the development and sale of support products for people with disabilities. She is also a trainer at various organisations. She was a guest lecturer at the Polytechnic Institute of Porto in 2020, at CTESP Gerontological Support Services and Technologies. She is currently a guest lecturer at the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria at CTESP Health Support Products. She has a passion for research and development of new projects and products that can make the daily lives of people with disabilities more accessible and inclusive.
