As part of a partnership with the Fundação MEO, the Espaço com Sentido at aTOPlab is equipped with the latest technologies for access to the digital world and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). This space provides specialised support for people with disabilities in accessing, using and training with these technologies, as well as assessment and recommendation services for assistive products eligible for public prescription and funding.

Among the available resources are alternative access control devices — such as eye tracking or switches —, customised communication software, adapted computer equipment and assessment tools that allow us to respond to the functional diversity of its users.

 

The Espaços com Sentido initiative by Fundação MEO represents accessible and inclusive environments that promote the active participation of people with functional limitations. Within the scope of aTOPlab’s work, these spaces are more than adapted environments: they are living laboratories of innovation, where technology and therapy come together to create opportunities for autonomy and quality of life.
